Jellyfish Nebula (IC433)

This supernova, in the constellation of Gemini, is a star that has detonated. blasting debris into space. It was shot over four nights which I spent in my tent in sub zero temperatures. I ended up with really terrible flu afterwards.

Total exposure time 24hrs 40mins
Ha 108 x 300
OIII 100 x 300
SII 88 x 300

Gemini, where the jellyfish is located, is a wonderful constellation. Unlike many others it actually looks like what it is supposed to be - twins. They walk happily arm in arm and once you have found them in the sky, it’s hard to unsee them. Unfortunately one of the twins has the jellyfish stuck to their trailing leg.
